This page will address how to add and remove steps for the "Steps" template.
Adding Steps
Step 1: Scroll down and Click "Add New Step"
Step 1: Once on the "Create New Test Case" page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Add New Step." This will add another step to the bottom of the page.
You now have another Step.
Child Steps
You may also add a "Child Step" within a regular Step by doing the following:
Step 1: Click the three dot symbol on the right side of a Step section
This will open a dropdown menu
Step 2: Click "Add Child Step" from the dropdown menu
This will add the Child Step under the Step you are currently on and will have it's own description and expected outcome fields.
Shared Steps
A third Step type is called "Shared Steps" that can be added by creating one or adding it from an existing list. You can create a Shared Step by doing these steps:
Step 1: Click the "Action" button
This will bring up a menu with a "Create Shared Step" button
Step 2: Click "Create Shared Step"
Doing so will bring up the "Create New Shared Step" menu
Step 3: Fill in the Shared Step fields
You will be required to fill in a name for the shared step, the first step description, and the first step expected outcome. If required, you may fill out additional steps.
Step 4: Click "Save"
This will save your Shared step to your Organization and can be used by any other user in your Organization.
Step 5: Click "Add Shared Step" and pick the created step
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Add Shared Step," picking the new Shared Step you just created. This will add that step to your Test Case.
Removing Steps
Removing steps, regardless of which type, is simple.
Step 1: Click the three dots on the top right side of each step
This will show a dropdown menu with the "Remove" button
Step 2: Click "Remove" and confirm
After clicking remove a extra menu will pop up asking if you are sure you want to remove that step. Click "Remove" again to confirm
Once you have created the Test Cases you want, you will be able to filter through them to find the exact type you want. Click "Next" to see how.
