Creating Test Plans

Let's create our first test plan. This page will show you how.

Step 1: Open Test Plans tab

You can find the tab on the left hand side of any project.

Steps 2: Click "Create Test Plan" button

If you have no test plans, one of these buttons will be in the center of the screen and another is at the top right of the page.

Step 3: Make a Test Plan name

The name will often reflect the goal of the Test Plan, with some examples being "Stress Testing Plan" or "Risk Mitigation Plan"

Step 4: Fill in any or all fields (Optional)

The only required field to create a Test Plan is the name, but you may also fill in a description, pick a Milestone, and attach a tag.

Step 5: Add Test Runs (Optional)

Add a Test Run by clicking the "Actions" button and choosing "Add test runs" from the list.

This will take you to a list with all available Tests Runs. If there are no Test Runs, the page will prompt you to create a new one. To see how to create a Test Run click here

Select one or more Test Run in the list by click on the checkboxes beside the Test Run names. this will add the Test Runs to your Test Plan when you click "Create test plan"

Step 6: Click "Create test plan"

Once you have finished filling in all the fields you want, and adding any Test Runs, you can click "Create test plan."

You may have chosen not to add a Test Run or fill in a field when creating your Test Plan. No worries, you can always edit your active Test Plan at anytime. Click "Next" to see how.
